With your help we want to raise awareness and funds for women’s health projects to support patients at the Lister, New QEII, Hertford County Hospital and the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

Following the success of a men's health equivalent in 2019, we will be launching our new Women's Health Fundraising Committee during the week's activities. The committee is made up of charity staff and healthcare professionals from specialist departments across the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust including:

  • Maternity
  • Gynaecology
  • Breast Cancer Unit

The funds raised will allow us to support areas across the trust that specialise in supporting women, enabling us to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and make improvements to patient areas of our hospitals, as well as investing in staff research and development.

We are looking for patients and members of our community to join the committee. If you're passionate about women's health and would like to join us, please speak to a member of the Charity Team.

From Monday 19 October to Friday 23 we will be hosting a range of different information and awareness events for a number of women's health topics at two of our sites, the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and the New QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City.

  • Lister Women's Health Committee Launch
On Monday 19 October we will have information stands on women's health topics with the option to meet clinicians, find out about the Hospitals' Charity and to register to join the Women's Health Fundraising Committee. We will also be giving away freebies on the day.

  • New QEII Women's Health Committee Launch
On Wednesday 21 October we will stage a similar event at the New QEII, with information stands, freebies, the option to meet clinicians and a chance to register to join the Women's Health Fundraising Committee.

  • Women's Health Celebration Event
A special event being held on Friday 23 October in Lister's Plaza where all funds raised will benefit women's health projects.

Awareness – As well as our on-site information stands and promotional events, we will also be using our social media platforms to promote women's health services.

Fundraising – We would like to encourage our supporters to take part in fundraising in support of women's health projects during the week, whether that be on your own, at work, with friends or teammates. Why not take part in a sponsored walk, run or cycle?
