Thank you to everyone who took part,
cheered on and donated!

61 courageous abseilers in total took part in the Lister Abseil on Sunday, taking on and conquering the iconic Lister tower block!

Speaking after completing the abseil, Rachael Corser, director of nursing at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, said:

“I never imagined I would be abseiling from the top of Lister. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Thank you to those from our local community, including our staff  participating, our volunteers that gave up their time to help, and the local companies that both took part in and ensured the abseil was a success. This event has raised a fantastic amount towards the Hospital Charity that will ensure we are able to go above and beyond for our patients.”

Over 26 Trust members of staff took part including the Director of Nursing Rachael Corser, Divisional Director of Womens and Childrens Palmer Winstanley, Deputy Divisional Director of Surgery Marie Lyons as well teams from paediatrics, urology and bereavement

We were also delighted to have 13 supporters and volunteers abseiling in support of The Lister Butterfly Service, alongside 6 parents from the Lister Neonatal Families Group and Julia Wurie, a nurse from the Neonatal Unit, abseiling to raise funds for the Lister Neonatal Big Build

Huge thank you to the Trust staff and volunteers who gave up their time to help, Dolomite Training for organising the abseil activity, Georgina Carter and Jim Coote, our volunteer photographer and videographer for the day, Mr H productions, North Herts Radio, Cook ‘n’ go caterers and Coop Biggleswade for donating water.
