aimed at NHS trust staff only

a

East & North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity exists to support East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust by fundraising for projects and appeals that go above and beyond for patients and visitors cared for at the Lister, New QEII Hospital, Hertford County Hospital and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

The charity helps by fundraising for:

  • The very best medical kit and equipment
  • Investment in the newest technology and tools to enhance treatment
  • Services that support patients and families
  • Research projects that drive innovation and clinical advancements
  • Staff training and education to develop new skills and knowledge
  • Refurbishments of our wards and visitor areas to improve patient experience and make our hospitals a ‘home from home’ environment
  • Special extras for patients which help to spread a smile

How you can get involved

  • Take part in our staff lottery, for the chance to win £1000 every month
  • Fundraise - organise your own fundraising event or activity in your team. We can provide you with buckets, balloons and banners
  • Have a collection can or bucket in your office or ward - did you know that collection cans raise on average £50 per can? Every penny counts!
  • Take part in an event or challenge - whether it’s a sponsored run, trek, abseil or even dry January, we are on hand to support you.
  • Organise a stall in our Charity Corner - if you would like to promote the work of your department or would like a stall in the main concourse of the Lister, please contact the Charity Team to book a space
  • Volunteer - we need support with administration, events and distributing collection cans. If you can offer your time we would love to hear from you
  • Promote our Charity - circulate Charity news and opportunities to your team, like and follow our social media pages and tell your friends and family about us.
  • Become a Charity Champion or Ambassador - support our Hospital Charity by getting involved regularly with any of the options above! We would love to have you on the team and will invite you to Charity meetings, to speak at events and we can offer complimentary spaces to our challenges/events.

The donations that we receive will mainly go towards ‘Morale boosting kits’ for NHS staff. We also think that it is important that donations can also raise money towards extra medical equipment, support services, cutting-edge research projects and refurbishments of local hospitals which will ultimately enhance a patient's experience.
