This year has been a particularly difficult one for all of us, so this year let's make Christmas extra special for everyone.

We would love you to get involved and support your local hospital this Christmas, below you can find all of our planned festive activities and how you can take part:

Christmas Butterfly Appeal
This year our Christmas Appeal is focused on our Award Winning Butterfly Volunteer Service, click here to find out more about the brilliant work they do. We're asking our supporters to give a little change to make a huge difference to end of life patients and their families.

£5 could fund a support pack for a bereaved family.
£20 could fund a comfort package for a dying patient.
£50 could fund decorations for a patient and family celebration in hospital, for example a wedding.
£100 could fund everything a Butterfly needs to start their role including uniform, ID and lanyard - and also covers their expenses of travelling to the hospital.

Christmas Jumper Day

Pay it Forward scheme
This year, the amazing work that goes on across the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has been in the spotlight more than ever and our local community has rallied around us all. This festive season we’d like to invite you to give a little back by signing up to our Christmas Pay it Forward scheme to help fund a gift for a patient at Christmas. Click here to find out more.

Tree of Light
This Christmas sees the launch of the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals' Charity's special Tree of Light event. Name a light on our spectacular Christmas Tree at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage to remember a loved one, to say thank you for care received by our Trust or to celebrate someone special to you. Click here to find out more.

Christmas Grotto
This year our charity and play specialist team would like to welcome you to our very own Santa's Grotto in the Magic of Play Room where you will be able to safely deliver presents to the poorly children staying on our wards over the festive season. Our Christmas Grotto will run from Monday 7th December through to Friday 11th December, with 6 slots available on each day from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Click here to find out more and book a slot.

Magic of Play Toy Appeal
Due to Covid-19 we have sadly had to limit the play on our Children’s Wards as patients cannot share toys as they usually would. This means that any toy a child has played with whilst in hospital has to go home with them when they are discharged which has left us with a lack of toys. Help us spread a smile to local poorly children treated at the Lister by buying a gift through our Amazon Wish List this Christmas. Click here to find out more.

Donate in Lieu of sending Christmas Cards
This year why not make a donation to our charity instead of sending Christmas Cards to friends, family, clients or colleagues? If you would like to donate you can do so by clicking here. To receive an acknowledgement to share please leave a comment with your donation. We will also issue you with an e-certificate to send out.

Knitted decorations and Christmas Cards
If you happen to find yourself at Lister Hospital this year we will be selling a number of knitted Christmas decorations and hand made cards at our Charity Hub. Please pop by to browse the lovely items we have on offer.
