Dedicated supporter launches rose in memory of her son

After tragically losing her son Lee at the age of 25 to Renal Failure, Sue Williams has been a dedicated support of the Renal Services through the Hospitals’ Charity at the Lister. After fundraising to open the Lee Haynes Research Institute in Lee’s honour, Sue embarked on a new challenge to create another lasting tribute to her son whilst providing ongoing fundraising support for the Renal Department.

With the generous support of Harkness Roses, the Cymbal of Hope rose was launched in June.

This beautifully scented hybrid tea rose is lemon yellow in the early season, turning to apricot shades for later blooms with dark, glossy foliage. The rose was created in memory of Lee, who was a keen drummer in a local band; the rose’s name “Cymbal of Hope” honours his passion.

We are delighted to announce that the Cymbal of Hope Rose is now available for purchase through Harkness Roses. The Cymbal of Hope will cost £15 and is available in store or online. £2.50 of each sale will be donated to the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity Renal Fund
