Ensuring patients facing cancer receive the best care and support

Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) is a leading specialist cancer centre providing outpatient chemotherapy, radiotherapy, brachytherapy and an acute oncology service.

MVCC treats over 5,000 patients each year from a large catchment population of almost 2 million including those from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Northwest London. 

The clinical team prides itself on providing each patient with first class care, working hard to provide the best possible treatments in a professional and compassionate manner.

We support the excellent work carried out by the staff to make the difference to every patient. We fundraise to provide what is over and above NHS funding to improve treatments and enhance patient experience.

Here are some projects we have helped to fund:

• A peaceful fern garden outside the chemo suite for patients, their families and staff
• Ground-breaking ScarWork programme led by Dr Beverley de Valois to improve the appearance of surgical scarring
• The Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre
• Dual scalp cooling systems 
• A RapidArc (pictured below) licence to expand radiotherapy treatment for patients with lung, breast and rectum cancers

• New SPECT/CT scanner
• Refurbishment of the Brachytherapy procedure room

• Virtual sky art panels on the ceiling to help patients feel calm and relaxed during radiotherapy
