We're delighted that the chair of East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust, Anita Day, has joined our Children's Big Build Philanthropy Board. 

Anita brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role.

She said: "This is a very exciting project, and I’m thrilled that our hospitals’ charity has joined us to make this new facility even better for children and young people in our area.

"With the funding for the building structure approved, we now have this opportunity to raise funds to create a wonderful, contemporary unit designed around the needs of the children and families who will use it. 

"It will be a unit we can all be proud of - a beautiful, modern, futureproof facility that we would all want for our children.

"The charity has worked with the paediatric team, and consulted children and their families to develop plans for inspiring spaces and state-of-the-art facilities that will make this centre truly exceptional. If we meet our fundraising target of £2million, the ‘wow factor’ will be guaranteed.

"We’re excited to be working with a dedicated Philanthropy Board who are committed to using their networks and influence to raise awareness and funds for the project. 

"Finally, I’d just like to say that we are incredibly lucky to have a kind, generous, local community and together we can create the future of our children’s healthcare, right here at our local hospital."
