VIP and celebrity supporters We are proud to have the support of these VIPs and celebrities who have helped us raise funds and raise awareness for the work we do in our hospitals. Rosie Galligan, Saracens and England Rugby player Rosie, who was part of the 2025 World Cup winning team, has supported us at our annual Hertfordshire Residential Development Awards events and has also kindly given her time to visit children on the children's ward and staff at Lister Hospital. Damion Burrows, RIBA ARB, architect and television presenter Damion has also supported our annual Hertfordshire Residential Development Awards, presenting the event in its first year and committing to heading the judging panel for three years. Stevenage Football Club Our friends at Stevenage Football Club always bring joy to the children's ward with their visits. They bring gifts, and of course, everyone's favourite, Boro Bear! Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenant We are very grateful to have the support of Hertfordshire Lord-Lieutenant, Robert Voss CBE CStJ, who was the guest of honour at our first Hertfordshire Residential Development Awards and Deputy Lieutenant, Dr Sally Burton, who was the guest of honour for the second year. The Lord-Lieutenant also accompanied the Princess Royal to Lister Hospital to present the Butterfly Volunteer Service with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services. Aidan O'Neill, actor We were thrilled to have actor and panto legend, Aidan O'Neill, join us at our Rainbow Run event. Aidan is a firm family favourite and really made it an extra special event for everyone. Matthew Biggs, writer and broadcaster We were thrilled that the late writer, broadcaster and Gardeners' Question Time panellist, Matthew Biggs, not only supported our project to transform the gardens at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, but that he lead the project and recruited his industry friends to lend a helping hand. Matthew was inspired to take on the project after looking out the window at the neglected gardens while receiving treatment at the centre. Even during Matthew's illness and final weeks he made it his mission to turn the outdoor space into a beautiful, tranquil garden for patients, staff, volunteers and members of the local community. In recognition of his work and dedication, the garden has been named in his honour and is now called the Matthew Biggs Sanctuary Garden. Richard Herring, comedian, writer and podcaster Comedian and Taskmaster Champion (and Taskmaster Champion of Champions), Richard Herring, ran the Hertfordshire Half Marathon just 9 months after having cancer surgery and raised more than £30,000 for our hospitals. Richard wanted to raise funds to thank NHS staff at Lister Hospital and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre where he was treated for testicular cancer.
