We were delighted to welcome Demi Osborn and her grandad John Rugg to Lister, where they presented our Director of Nursing Rachael Corser with a cheque for an incredible £56.

8 year old Demi organised a charity cooking fundraiser to say thank you to the team at Lister for their care and to give back to others in need.

John said

'Demi is well aware that Lister Hospital played a huge part in saving my life from Bowel Cancer 7 years ago, and recognises that all the treatment and after care, which I received during that time, is why I’m here today. She also wanted to do something to say thank you for taking care of her when she needed emergency treatment to save one of her fingers; when she was very little and also more recently, when she almost lost half of her tongue; after suffering a freak accidental accident at school.  As this first small charity fundraising event was a success, Demi along with my support, now wishes to continue to raise money for the hospital and we’re now planning another charity fundraiser to be held later this year'

We would like to say thank you and a huge well done to Demi for her fantastic fundraising efforts and to her grandad John for his continued support!
