Our Moor Park 10k & Fun Runs 2019, held at Merchant Taylors' School in September raised an amazing £23,000!

This year was the 18th year we have held the run in aid of The Lynda Jackson Macmillan Cancer Centre, the first year in 2002 had just 250 runners in the 10k and 114 children in the fun runs. 18 years later over 12,000 runners have taken part to date, raising over £650,000!

In 2019 over 1,200 runners registered, ranging in age from 3 to 80 years old! 806 fun runners took part in the four different boys and girls age categories; U7’s, U10’s, U12’s and U15’s and pupils from over 80 different schools in the surrounding areas. This year we also had more than 20 different running clubs involved.

On the day we were also honoured to be joined by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, in attendance for the trophy presentation. As well as Team GB athletes Ellis Cross and Theo Blundell, who lead our warm up and acted as hares for the fun runs. We also had 20 Moor Park resident marshals and over 35 volunteers including a corporate team from Sky, match funding from Barclays and the local Police Cadets support.

The Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre is partially funded by the NHS, but we rely on voluntary donations and fundraising activities like the Moor Park 10k.

Last year we received over 37,000 requests for help so the £23,000 we have raised to date will make a huge difference and will enable us to respond to these requests and continue to provide our support and information services free of charge to people affected by cancer at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

Next year's event will take place on Sunday 20 September 2020 and registration will be open from March onwards so keep an eye out and we look forward to seeing you there. Moorpark10k.org.uk
