Popular pantomime star, Aidan O’Neill, is set to host Rainbow Run, our an annual colour run event to raise funds for our local NHS hospitals.

Aidan, a regular in Stevenage’s Gordon Craig Theatre’s pantomime, will help warm up the crowds, start the runs, present trophies and there will a chance for runners to meet him.

Rainbow Run is a family-friendly, colourful fun run with 5k and 2.5k routes and a brand new ‘Smile Mile’. This year, the event moves to a new venue - Letchworth Rugby Club.

Aidan said: “I’m delighted to be supporting this year’s Rainbow Run. It’s a great day out for all the family and helps to raise funds to support our local hospitals.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the rainbow-themed costumes and everyone enjoying getting covered in paint.”

Rainbow Run entrants are invited to dedicate their run to a loved one or to thank a hospital team for their care. All runners will receive a medal and there will be trophies awarded for the best rainbow-inspired outfit, top fundraiser and top NHS staff team. The event village will have stalls, ice cream van, bouncy castle and other activities.

Hannah Martin, event coordinator, said: “We are so excited that Aidan is hosting this year’s Rainbow Run. I take my children to see him in panto every year and they are as excited as we are that he is coming.

“Aidan is a big favourite in our house as he is in many others. He is amazing in panto and will make the day even more special. I will have to warn him my children will be shouting ‘he’s behind you!’ though every time they see him.”
