Dedicated to enhancing Men’s Health at our Hospitals

With your help we want to raise awareness and funds for Men’s health projects to support patients at the Lister, New QEII, Hertford County Hospital and the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

We have a newly formed Men’s Health Committee made up of local patients and health care professionals from the urology team who have come together to support our charity in our quest to raising funds for specialist medical kit and equipment, support services as well as extra staff training and research so we can make a difference to treatment, care and experience for men in our community.

Making a difference to patients with prostate cancer

We are currently fundraising for a cutting-edge piece of surgical equipment called the da Vinci Single Port (SP). The kit is a single arm attached to our surgical robot that expands out into 4 parts during surgery which is primarily used for treating patients with prostate cancer and other urological conditions.

This equipment is new, innovative and not currently used anywhere else in Europe.  It will allow our surgeons at the Lister to perform the most complex urology surgeries through a single one inch incision on a patient, as opposed to the four incisions they currently make.

We need to raise £770,000 for the da Vinci so we are inviting individuals, businesses and local groups in the community to join us in fundraising for this innovative piece of kit which is going to make a big difference to local men.
