Jo Fox has kindly shared her story on why she is supporting the Bluebell Ward at Lister Hospital

My son, Arthur, was born in May 2022 with a very rare genetic condition called OTC. This meant our local hospital, the Lister, and the Bluebell Children’s Ward became a home from home.

It’s such a worrying time when your child has been admitted to hospital. There is a lot of time sitting and worrying.

The staff on the Bluebell Ward are so wonderful at keeping the parents' and children’s spirits up but it would be so great to make the rooms and bathrooms more comfortable for those staying and the environment nicer for the staff.

It really is the little things like being able to have a hot shower that make all the difference in such stressful situations.

I’ve been fundraising for the Bluebell Ward by taking on the Lister Abseil, hosting a supper club, organizing a quiz and also getting my son, Finley, and his friends involved with the Rainbow Run last year and again this year.

It’s such a great cause, and every penny helps make the Bluebell a better place for all that visit.

Thank you so much, Jo, for sharing your story and for your continued support.
